The Unikko 60th anniversary world
The time has come to tie a bow on the 60th anniversary of Unikko. If there’s one thing we learned this year, it’s that no matter where you are, when you were born or how long you’ve known this print, Unikko brings us together. Scroll on for the year’s highlights!
Unikko blooms to light
Unikko started its 60th at home. At the Lux Helsinki light festival, our radiant print lit up the Ateneum Art Museum with a dazzling show for onlookers near and wide.
The denim debut
Next, we headed to Copenhagen Fashion Week to debut our very first denim collection, Maridenim. Naturally, the star of the show was a full Unikko look that burst new life into bold denim, as proven by @rhunrun here.
Welcome to Bar Unikko
Bar Unikko by Marimekko and Apartmento served a joy-driven menu at Milan Design Week in spring and at Helsinki Design Week in late summer.
The party of the year
But the big bash was on Marimekko Day. In Helsinki, Tokyo, Bangkok, Shanghai and Hong Kong, we threw parties to celebrate the birthday print and got the community together.
