Petra Börner
Marimekko has always worked with artists. Since 1951, we’ve been refining the art of printmaking, bringing creativity into homes and wardrobes around the world. It's why we created the Marimekko Artist Series—a platform that invites emerging and established artists to collaborate with us on limited-edition capsule collections that push the boundaries of printmaking.
For our latest edition, we’re thrilled to present Petra Börner, a Swedish-born, London-based artist celebrating the powerful interplay of color and organic form. Her vivid, charismatic artwork captures the dualities of flowers—hope and despair, gloom and bloom.

The fashion prints
In our garments, the Baluns and Cactis prints share passionate lines that evoke a sense of positive growth. Meanwhile, Blombom and Eldfam introduce warm energy with their rich, evocative colors.
The home prints
Each floral motif in our decor shares a zest for life. Vildstjälk, Petra’s most vibrant print, depicts a wild stem in layers of bold color, while Kraftmo offers a minimalist black ink design. Pistilla, representing the core of a plant, symbolizes femininity and hope.
