The Imprint bags are manufactured in Abruzzo, Italy, with hand-finished details. The bags’ inner lining is 50% recycled cotton that was printed in Marimekko's printing mill in Helsinki, Finland.
The Imprint bag series represents meticulous attention to every detail in the creation of a leather bag, from material sourcing to design and manufacturing.
The Imprint series features a leather manufacturing milestone that we are especially proud of—traceability. At Marimekko, we only accept leather from animals bred for food production, and each piece of leather used in Imprint bags can be traced back to a specific Scandinavian farm.
The beauty of Imprint bags stems in part from the natural feel of the leather, which is achieved through a less-coated surface. Slight irregularities in texture and color are characteristic features of leather, making each piece distinct.
